Epic Games has confirmed that the popular Fortnite OG mode, which has garnered a lot of player interest, will be permanently added to the game starting tomorrow, Friday, December 6. The mode will no longer be a limited-time event and will include its own seasons and battle pass.
Release Time and Details
Fortnite OG mode will officially launch during the daily reset, at 6 AM PT (9 AM ET) on December 6, unless Epic activates it earlier. This mode brings back some of the original gameplay elements and weapons, allowing players to relive the early days of Fortnite with a more classic experience.
Weapon List for Fortnite OG Mode
The OG mode will feature several of the original weapons, with more expected to be introduced over time. Players can expect to see iconic items such as the Assault Rifle, Pump Shotgun, Tactical Shotgun, Revolver, Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle, and Rocket Launcher. Additionally, items like the Damage Trap and Ceiling Zapper will be available.
Quality of Life Changes
While the OG mode aims to capture the classic Fortnite feel, it won't be identical to the game's original state. Some modern quality of life changes will be incorporated, including reboot vans, sniper scope glints, and a max building limit of 999 materials. Building mechanics will remain the same as they are today, and movement features like sprinting, sliding, and mantle climbing will also be present. However, wall running will not be available.
Fortnite OG Battle Pass
Alongside the launch of the OG mode, a new battle pass will be introduced, running until January 31, 2025. This pass will feature 45 tiers with modern updates to classic items and outfits, such as Renegade Rebel, Aerial Assault Bomber, and Skull Commander. The battle pass will allow players to earn XP from all modes, not just OG mode.
The introduction of permanent OG mode has excited fans, though it remains to be seen how the community will react to it being a mainstay in the game.
