Apple has quietly announced the new iPad Mini 7 tablet that will support the Apple Intelligence features thanks to the new hardware upgrades. The company was expected to bring the new iPad Mini model along with the rumoured M4 MacBook Pro model but it has done it much earlier and not waited until the supposed launch event slated for later this month.
Talking about the new iPad Mini, the 7 gen model is powered by one of the latest A-series chipset from the iPhone Pro models, and gets support for the latest Apple Pencil Pro version.
Apple iPad Mini 7 price in India starts from Rs 49,900 for the 128GB Wi-Fi model, going up to Rs 79,900 for the 512GB Wi-Fi variant. The iPad Mini 7 128GB cellular model comes for a starting price of Rs 64,900 going all the way up to Rs 94,900. Apple iPad Mini 7 is now available for pre-order and goes on sale from October 24 in the country.
The iPad Mini 7 looks like its predecessor and most of the upgrades happen inside. You get an 8.3-inch LED Liquid Retina display with anti-reflective coating and 500 nits of brightness. It is powered by the A17 Pro chipset that has a 16-core neural engine which will support the Apple Intelligence features later this year. You get a 12MP rear and a 12MP ultra wide front camera for FaceTime calls.
The iPad Mini 7 gets a Touch ID built into the power button for biometric security and doesn’t support Face ID. It has the USB C port for charging and the iPadOS 18 version will show its true value with the version 18.1 update coming out this month. Apple had talked about needing an M-series iPad model to run the AI features but the new update suggests the company is happy to make concessions in some cases.
